LBBC’s Dave Haslehurst and Nick Hall recently returned from a successful trip to Asia, beginning with visits across Taiwan and concluding in Japan at the World Investment Casting Conference (WCIC) 2025.

In the blog below, Dave shares insights and highlights from their journey.

Taiwan

Our journey began in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, where we met with AIDC (Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation). From there we travelled north, stopping in Miaoli City to visit Trans Crystalline Alloys (TCA), followed by a final visit to Taiwan Power Company in Taipei.

Across all of our meetings, we were warmly welcomed, and our presentations — translated into traditional Chinese —were very well received. These visits highlighted the strong interest in LBBC’s technology and reinforced the importance of building lasting partnerships in the region.

Alongside the business programme, we enjoyed experiencing Taiwan’s vibrant culture. A highlight was joining our partners from 3DR Solutions for a traditional Taiwanese hot pot in Taipei — a lively evening that gave us a real flavour of local life.

Japan

From Taipei we flew to Tokyo, where we spent the weekend taking in some of the city’s cultural landmarks, including the Meiji Shrine and the Samurai Museum.

On Monday, we travelled by Shinkansen bullet train to Kobe for the World Investment Casting Conference 2025.

WCIC 2025 – Kobe, Japan

LBBC is proud to have a strong presence at this year’s WCIC conference. Our stand is set up and ready to welcome visitors, and we look forward to connecting with both new and longstanding customers.

The conference is also an opportunity to listen to technical papers and stay up to date with the latest developments shaping the global investment casting industry. Events like WCIC are invaluable for sharing knowledge, showcasing our expertise, and deepening international relationships.

Reflections

The trip was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen LBBC’s connections in Asia. We return encouraged by the positive reception we received in Taiwan and energised by the collaborative spirit of WCIC 2025 in Japan.
