At last months EICF Conference in Liverpool, Howard Pickard, Managing Director of LBBC Technologies, was awarded the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his exceptional contribution to the investment casting industry.
In an exclusive interview with INCAST Magazine, Howard reflected on LBBC’s legacy—founded in 1876 and now in its fifth generation of family leadership—and the core values that have underpinned its success: integrity, innovation, and a long-term perspective. From pioneering the Quicklock® door and the Boilerclave®, to advancing sustainable technologies through ventures such as Resomation, he emphasised the importance of purposeful, responsible engineering.
He also spoke about the evolution of LBBC into a group structure, its adaptability across sectors, and the company’s ongoing commitment to investing in people, skills, and technology. Looking to the future, his advice to young engineers was to stay curious, resilient, and true to their values.
